Monaco have joined the race to sign Chelsea FC transfer target Aleksandr Golovin this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Star is reporting that the Ligue 1 club have made a generous offer to try and bring the 22-year-old World Cup star to Monaco from CSKA Moscow this summer.
The same report says that Russia international Golovin is a target for new Chelsea FC manager Maurizio Sarri as he prepares for his first season in charge of the club.
The article also claims that Arsenal are interested in signing Golovin this summer, but it is Monaco who have made the first official move to try and sign him.
Golovin earned plenty of praise for his strong performances for Russia on home soil at this summer’s World Cup.
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC completed their first signing of the summer transfer window over the weekend when they confirmed the arrival of Jorginho from Napoli.
Sarri was official announced as the west London club’s new manager on Saturday after months of speculation linking him with the Stamford Bridge job.
He has been tasked with steering Chelsea FC back into the top four at the very least in his first campaign in charge.
