Alvaro Morata has taken to social media to reveal his delight at being back in training with Chelsea FC ahead of the new season.

The Spanish striker has been enjoying a summer away from football after he was not called up to the Spain squad for this summer’s World Cup in Russia.

The 25-year-old endured something of a difficult debut season at Chelsea FC after having signed for the Blues from Real Madrid last summer.

Morata started the season strongly but his form tailed off in the second part of the campaign after he was hampered by a niggling back injury.

The striker’s future has been something of a source of speculation this summer, with some reports suggesting that he could even be on his way out of Stamford Bridge after just one season.

However, the forward himself looks to be in good spirits with the Blues if his latest post on Instagram is anything to go by.

Chelsea FC’s players returned to pre-season training at Cobham over the weekend and Morata was clearly in high spirits to be in the sunshine.

Morata posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “Another pre-season! @chelseafc ✌🏻😬.”

Chelsea FC finished fifth and won the FA Cup last season.
