Maurizio Sarri has insisted that Gary Cahill still has a lot to give at Chelsea FC despite the speculation about his future.

Sarri is getting used to life at Stamford Bridge after having been appointed as the club’s new manager over the weekend.

The Italian boss will be looking to revamp his squad in the remaining few weeks of the summer transfer window as the Blues look to try and build a team capable of winning the title next season.

Cahill’s future has been a source of speculation due to his lack of playing time under Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge last term.

However, new Chelsea FC boss Sarri has appeared to indicate that he wants to keep hold of the England defender beyond the summer.

Asked if Cahill has a future at Chelsea FC, Sarri told a news conference on Wednesday at Stamford Bridge: “With respect to Cahill I think he can still give us a lot.”

Chelsea FC have already made one signing so far this summer after completing a deal to bring Jorginho to Stamford Bridge over the weekend.

The west London side are looking to build a team capable of at least breaking back into the top four next season.
