Belgian reporter replies when asked if Chelsea FC duo are leaving
Kristof Terreur says Thibaut Courtois is likely to sign for Real Madrid this summer, but a move for Eden Hazard may not occur
Kristof Terreur believes that Thibaut Courtois is likely to move to Real Madrid from Chelsea FC this summer, but he doubts whether the Spanish club will sign Eden Hazard as well.
The pair’s futures at Stamford Bridge have been constant talking points this summer after Chelsea FC missed out on Champions League qualification for next season.
The Belgian duo are also both approaching the end of their contracts at Stamford Bridge, with Courtois’ deal set to expire next summer and Hazard’s contract to run until 2020.
Real Madrid are being strongly linked with moves to sign both players this summer as they look to bolster their squad ahead of next season.
Although reporter Terreur feels that a move for Courtois to join Real Madrid this summer is definitely on the cards, a switch for Hazard is a little bit more unlikely in his opinion.
Speaking on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast, Terreur said: “I think it [Courtois to Real Madrid] will happen.
“[But] I am not sure Chelsea will sell both of those players to Real Madrid.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC are currently getting used to life under new manager Maurizio Sarri after he was appointed as the club’s new manager over the weekend.
The Blues also moved quickly to bring in Jorginho as their first signing of the summer transfer window.
