Insider delivers latest update on Thibaut Courtois’ Chelsea FC future
Ian McGarry delivers the latest update on Thibaut Courtois' link to Real Madrid this summer

Thibaut Courtois is waiting for Real Madrid to make an official bid to sign him from Chelsea FC this summer, according to transfer insider Ian McGarry.
The Belgian goalkeeper’s future has been a constant source of speculation this summer due to the fact that his current contract at Stamford Bridge is due to expire next summer.
If Courtois is not going to sign a new deal, then Chelsea FC are likely to want to cash in on the goalkeeper this summer rather than risk losing him for free in a year’s time.
Now, transfer insider McGarry has claimed that the goalkeeper is now biding his time as Real Madrid ponder making a bid to try and sign the shot-stopper ahead of the start of the new campaign.
Speaking on the Transfer Window podcast, Courtois said: “He wanted to move to Madrid.
“He wasn’t sure whether Madrid would put in a bid. Form what I’ve been told that has changed in the last couple of weeks. He is waiting to see if Madrid will make an offer to Chelsea so he can force the issue.”
Chelsea FC are thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to try and build a squad capable of winning the title under Maurizio Sarri next term.
The west London side finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season and missed out on Champions League qualification.
They completed their first signing of the summer earlier this month when they tied up a deal to bring Jorginho to Stamford Bridge from Napoli.
