Kante helped his country to keep a clean sheet against Eden Hazard’s Belgium side as Samuel Umtiti’s goal in the second half ended up handing Les Bleus the victory.
The Chelsea FC midfielder has earned plenty of praise for his performances for the Blues since moving to Stamford Bridge from Leicester City in the summer of 2016.
He has won the FA Cup and Premier League during his spell at Stamford Bridge so far, and former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is clearly a keen admirer of the defensive midfielder.
Speaking to beIN Sports after France’s win over Belgium, Wenger said: “He’s an example for all the young players who wanted to become a professional.
“He was rejected by clubs early on, he has had its hard. He persisted.
“Even in the 85th minute, you feel like he’s just come out of the bath. He’s still so fresh.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC are still thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to assemble a squad capable of winning the title next season.
The west London side ended up in fifth place in the table as they missed out on Champions League qualification for next term, but they did end the campaign on a high by lifting the FA Cup back in May.
