Chelsea FC have turned down a bid to sign Willian from FC Barcelona this summer, according to reports
Chelsea FC have turned down a bid in excess of £50m for Willian from FC Barcelona this summer, according to reports in the British media.
Sky Sports is claiming that the Blues have rejected an official offer from the Spanish giants for the 29-year-old Brazilian, whose future at Stamford Bridge has been a source of uncertainty recently.
The same story says that talks between the two clubs about a possible deal for Willian remain ongoing this summer, with the attacker currently on international duty with Brazil at the World Cup in Russia.
Willian made 55 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea FC last season, scoring 13 goals.
According to the same report, FC Barcelona began expressing an interest in signing Willian as long as three months ago.
Willian’s situation at Stamford Bridge has been a source of speculation recently after he found his playing time at the west London club to be significantly restricted last season.
Chelsea FC ended up in fifth place in the Premier League last term but managed to end the campaign on a high by beating Manchester United in the FA Cup final back in May.
The Blues are yet to complete any new signings this summer.
