Chelsea FC have been boosted in their hopes of holding on to Willian this summer after it was claimed that FC Barcelona are not interested in signing the Brazilian attacker by reports in the Spanish media.
Spanish outlet Sport, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that FC Barcelona are not looking to try and bring Willian to Camp Nou this summer, contrary to reports last week.
There had been claims that FC Barcelona had made a bid to try and bring Willian to Spain this summer as the speculation about his long-term future at Stamford Bridge continues.
However, the same story claims that sources close to the Catalan club have insisted that there has been no such offer and that the La Liga side are not interested in signing him this summer.
Willian’s future has been a source of speculation due to his lack of playing time last season under Antonio Conte.
He was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United last summer, but a transfer failed to materialise.
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC are yet to officially make any new signings this summer as they look to try and strengthen their squad ahead of next season.
The west London side will have to make do without Champions League football next term after they finished fifth last season.
