Antonio Conte’s situation at Chelsea FC has been a constant source of speculation all summer after the Blues ended up in fifth place in the Premier League table last season and missed out on Champions League qualification.
Maurizio Sarri has long been linked with the managerial position at Stamford Bridge, but there is yet to be any official announcement from the west London club.
Zola has been linked with taking up the assistant manager’s job at Stamford Bridge this summer.
Now, the Chelsea FC legend has spoken out about the situation at his former club.
Zola is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard: “There’s so much talk. There are many teams who would like a coach like Sarri. I think the parties are working on it, but I don’t know anything more.
“We are talking about two coaches that I respect a lot: Antonio and Maurizio.
“I really wish that a quick solution that would be good for both parties is found. At the moment you need to have a clear situation as quickly as possible.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC are yet to make any new signings this summer as they look to try and revamp their squad ahead of next season.
The Blues will be looking to at least build a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season after their disappointing campaign last term.
They did end the season on a positive note last term by beating Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley back in May.
