The Daily Mail is reporting that the Blues are on the brink of confirming Sarri as Antonio Conte’s replacement following a difficult summer of negotiations between the Italian coach, Chelsea FC and Napoli.
The same article states that the west London side will give Sarri a contract thought to be worth around £5.6m a year to become Conte’s successor at Stamford Bridge ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
According to the same story, Chelsea FC are still working out compensation deals with Conte and his staff following a difficult summer for the FA Cup winners since the close of the 2017-18 season.
The Daily Mail goes on to suggest that Sarri will officially become Chelsea FC’s next manager on Monday as the controversial 49-year-old embarks on a new challenge in the Premier League.
The Blues finished in fifth spot in the Premier League last season to miss out on a spot in the Champions League for the second time in three campaigns.
Chelsea FC did win the FA Cup after a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the Wembley showpiece.
