Chelsea FC to sign 38-year-old on a free transfer – report
Chelsea FC are set to sign Rob Green on a free transfer this summer, according to reports
Chelsea FC are set to sign Rob Green on a free transfer this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun claims that the 38-year-old shot-stopper is heading to Stamford Bridge as cover after having spent a season on the bench at Huddersfield Town.
According to the same story, Green was considering retiring at the end of last season after having been released by Huddersfield, but the chance to move to Chelsea FC as a back-up option was too good to turn down.
The same article says that Green will join the Blues on a season-long deal while Jamal Blackman and Eduardo are out on loan.
There continues to be plenty of speculation about Thibaut Courtois’ future at Stamford Bridge.
The Belgian shot-stopper’s current contract with the Blues is due to expire next summer and Chelsea FC may want to cash in this year rather than risk losing him on a free transfer in 2019.
Chelsea FC are still believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as Maurizio Sarri prepares for his first season in charge at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have so far only brought in Italy midfielder Jorginho from Napoli this summer.
