The Blues are facing some uncertainty at Stamford Bridge following a difficult season under Italian head coach Antonio Conte.
Chelsea FC finished in fifth spot in the Premier League table last season to miss out on the Champions League for the second time in three seasons.
Conte is rumoured to be on the brink of the axe at Stamford Bridge amid reports Maurizio Sarri will take over the reins at Chelsea FC.
Sarri is thought to be keen to sign Golovin to bolster Chelsea FC’s attacking options ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
The Italian head coach attempted to sign Golovin during his spell in charge of Serie A side Napoli but couldn’t get a deal over the line.
Sky Sports News reporter Sheth believes Chelsea FC will launch a bid to sign Golovin to help Sarri restore the Blues to their former glory.
“This is an interesting one. Aleksandr Golovin is another target. It is interesting because he was a target for Napoli in the last window,” Sheth told the Transfer Talk podcast.
“It’s not a surprise there is an interest there. It is an indication that Sarri could be taking over. CSKA would be looking for upward of £20m.
Chelsea FC haven’t won the Champions League title since 2012 when the Blues beat Bayern Munich on penalties at the Allianz Arena.
The Blues were 1-0 winners against bitter rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley last term after Eden Hazard’s winner.
