The Times, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that Conte is attempting to arrange the Chelsea FC team’s return to training ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
The same article goes on to state that the Italian is set to be axed in the coming weeks as the Blues look to complete the appointment of Maurizio Sarri.
According to the same story, the west London side are ready to pay off Conte for the final year of his contract after giving up on the possibility of the Italian coach standing down.
Conte’s latest move could be seen as a power move following his strained relationship with the Chelsea FC board over the past 12 months.
The former Juventus boss led Chelsea FC to Premier League title glory in his first season in charge of the west London side in 2016-17.
However, the Blues finished outside the top four last term to miss out on Champions League football despite winning the FA Cup thanks to a 1-0 win over Manchester United in the final.
