Journalist claims Chelsea FC star is attracting interest from La Liga duo
Sunday Times reporter Duncan Castles believes Chelsea FC star Eden Hazard could move to FC Barcelona or Real Madrid
Chelsea FC star Eden Hazard is attracting interest from FC Barcelona and Real Madrid in the summer transfer window, according to Sunday Times reporter Duncan Castles.
The Blues forward has 24 months left to run on his current deal with the west London side to open up the possibility of Hazard leaving on a free transfer in 2020.
Hazard has been regularly linked with a move to Real Madrid over the past few seasons, but a deal failed to materialise during Zinedine Zidane’s spell in charge of los Blancos.
The Belgium international has won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the League Cup during his six-season spell at Stamford Bridge.
Hazard was unable to fire Chelsea FC to a top-four finish last term so the Blues won’t feature in the Champions League next term.
Sunday Times reporter Castles believes Chelsea FC could lose Hazard to FC Barcelona or Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
“Hazard has openly spoken about how it might be a dream to go to Madrid,” Castles told the Transfer Window podcast.
“Hazard has become frustrated with Chelsea in terms of managers, transfers and just how it has descended into a farce this summer. Hazard has a look at that and wonders if he is at the right club. Hazard has been attracting interest from Barcelona. Hazard’s stock is high.”
Chelsea FC sacked Antonio Conte on Thursday evening after the Blues missed out on a top four finish last term.
The west London side won the FA Cup thanks to a 1-0 win over Manchester United at Wembley thanks to Eden Hazard’s winner from the penalty spot.
