Gabriele Marcotti rules out Real Madrid signing Chelsea FC star Eden Hazard
ESPN FC reporter Gabriele Marcotti rules out Real Madrid signing Chelsea FC forward Eden Hazard this summer
Gabriele Marcotti has poured cold water on talk of Real Madrid signing Eden Hazard this summer.
The Champions League winners could have a void to fill in their starting XI given the speculation surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portugal international is thought to be closing in on a move to Serie A champions Juventus following nine seasons at Real Madrid.
Hazard has been regularly linked with a move to Real Madrid over the past three or four seasons at Stamford Bridge.
The Belgium international has won two Premier League titles, the Europa League, the FA Cup and the League Cup at the west London side.
He has also won the PFA player of the year award in 2015 after Hazard fired the Blues to Premier League title glory.
However, ESPN FC pundit Marcotti doesn’t believe Hazard fits the profile of player that Real Madrid will want to replace Ronaldo.
“I love Eden Hazard but in terms of the Galatico signing, he wouldn’t cut it unless he does something special and Belgium win the World Cup,” Marcotti told ESPN FC.
Chelsea FC finished in fifth spot in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a spot in the Champions League.
The Blues haven’t signed any players in the summer transfer window so far.
