Thibaut Courtois sends Chelsea FC message to Eden Hazard
The Chelsea FC goalkeeper wants Eden Hazard to follow his lead in the summer transfer window
Thibaut Courtois has urged Eden Hazard to follow the Chelsea FC goalkeeper wherever he ends up going this summer.
Both of Chelsea FC’s Belgium international have been linked with a potential summer switch away from Stamford Bridge in recent months.
Courtois has less than 12 months left on his current deal with the west London side to open up the possibility of a free transfer next summer.
The Belgian shot stopper has proven reluctant to thrash out a new deal with the Stamford Bridge outfit amid speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid.
Indeed, Courtois is thought to be keen to return to the Spanish capital following a three-season loan stint at Atletico given his former girlfriend and two children are in Madrid.
Hazard, meanwhile, has 24 months left to run on his Chelsea FC contract but the number 10 has made no secret of his desire to one day play for Real Madrid.
The former PFA player of the year is rumoured to have been a boyhood Real Madrid supporter given his footballing idol is ex-France captain Zinedine Zidane.
And Courtois has urged Hazard to follow his lead in the summer transfer window to ensure the Belgian duo stick together.
“Wherever I go, Hazard must come along. We will not let each other go. We’ll see. Now first vacation. And agree with my entourage in between.” Courtois is quoted as saying by Evening Standard.
“Now I’m going to talk to my manager to see what the possibilities are.
“All options are open to me. Also stay at Chelsea, yes. People always complain that players do not comply with their contracts, but maybe I will.
“I do not think they will keep someone with my qualities on the bench, even if I do not sign. But maybe that’s possible because I like being in London.”
