Chelsea FC have agreed a £53m deal to sign Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain this summer, according to a report
Chelsea FC have settled on an agreement to sign Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain in a £53m deal this summer, according to a report in Italy.
Italian media outlet Sport Mediaset, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that Chelsea FC and Juventus have agreed to a deal to sign the Argentina international in the current transfer window.
The same article states that the Juventus forward will command a transfer fee in the region of €60m (£53m) to bolster Chelsea FC’s attacking options ahead of Maurizio Sarri’s anticipated appointment.
According to the same story, Chelsea FC still have some work to do to complete a deal to make Sarri their next manager following a difficult season under his compatriot Antonio Conte.
Argentina international Higuain has been linked with a potential move to the west London side after he netted 16 times in Serie A last term.
He previously worked with Sarri during his stint at Napoli and netted 36 goals under the Italian coach in 2015-16.
Chelsea FC finished in fifth spot in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a Champions League spot for the second successive campaign.
The Blues were 1-0 winners against Manchester United in the FA Cup final thanks to Eden Hazard’s winner from the spot.
