Sky Sports News reporter Laura Woods believes Gonzalo Higuain doesn't want to move to Chelsea FC
Gonzalo Higuain doesn’t want to quit Juventus to move to Chelsea FC, according to Sky Sports News reporter Laura Woods.
The Argentina international scored 16 times in the 2017-18 Serie A season to help Juventus continue their dominance of the Italian top flight.
Higuain has been linked with a potential move to the west London outfit in the current transfer window to bolster Chelsea FC’s attack.
Maurizio Sarri is rumoured to be the favourite to replace Antonio Conte in the Stamford Bridge hot seat ahead of the new Premier League season.
The 49-year-old head coach worked with Higuain at Napoli, which would make Higuain would make a natural target for Sarri.
Juventus are rumoured to be in the market to sign Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo this summer to improve their attack ahead of the new campaign.
Sky Sports News reporter Woods provided an update on Chelsea FC’s pursuit of the Argentinian forward.
“His brother and agent Nicolas says he isn’t in talks with Chelsea,” Woods told the Transfer Talk podcast. “He says he wants to respect his contract.
‘He says it would be great to see Higuain and Ronaldo play together. The interesting thing is whether Ronaldo comes, Higuain will stay.
“Juve could use him to bring in more funds.”
Chelsea FC finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a Champions League spot.
The Blues were 1-0 winners against Manchester United in the FA Cup final to end the season with some silverware.
