The Blues could be facing a tough battle to keep Thibaut Courtois at Stamford Bridge beyond the end of the summer transfer window.
Courtois hasn’t signed a contract extension with the Blues and the Belgian shot stopper would be free to leave for nothing next summer.
Real Madrid are thought to be nearing a deal to sign the Belgium international to replace Costa Rica international Keylor Navas.
Chelsea FC are already weighing up potential replacements for Courtois in the current transfer window.
AS Roma shot sopper Alisson Becker has been touted as a candidate to replace Courtois but Liverpool FC signed the Brazilian in a £67m deal.
Chelsea FC have been linked with a surprise swoop to sign Leicester goalkeeper Schmeichel over the past couple of weeks.
The Denmark international is a Premier League winner with Leicester following their success under Claudio Ranieri in 2015-16.
Sunday Times reporter Castles has claimed that Chelsea FC are in negotiations with Leicester over a deal to sign Schmeichel.
“They have been talking with Kasper Schmeichel’s representatives about a potential move,” Castles told Transfer Window podcast.
“He would cost £20m from Leicester. He is keen on a move.”
