The Blues could be facing a tough battle to keep Thibaut Courtois at Stamford Bridge beyond the end of the summer transfer window.
Courtois hasn’t signed a contract extension with the Blues and the Belgian shot stopper would be free to leave for nothing next summer.
Chelsea FC are already weighing up potential replacements for Courtois in the current transfer window.
AS Roma shot sopper Alisson Becker has been touted as a candidate to replace Courtois in the Blues goal next term.
Chelsea FC have been linked with a surprise swoop to sign Leicester goalkeeper Schmeichel in recent days.
The Denmark international is a Premier League winner with Leicester following their success under Claudio Ranieri in 2015-16.
Sunday Times reporter Castles has revealed that Schmeichel has been offered to the west London side in the current transfer window.
“Schmeichel has been presented to them as a potential replacement,” Castles told the Transfer Window podcast.
“They are interested in the possibility of taking a guy who has won the Premier League and who is available for a relatively inexpensive fee. I believe Leicester would be willing to sell for around £20m”
Chelsea FC finished in fifth spot in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a spot in the Champions League.
The Blues haven’t signed any players in the summer transfer window so far.
