Maurizio Sarri suffers Chelsea FC transfer blow – report
Maurizio Sarri's appointment as the new Chelsea FC boss is being held up by Napoli, according to a report
Napoli are holding up Maurizio Sarri’s appointment as Chelsea FC boss by insisting the Italian coach doesn’t sign any of the Serie A club’s players, according to a report in England.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that Napoli want to ensure that Sarri doesn’t raid the Naples club should the Italian side release him from his current contract.
The same article states that Napoli’s insistence that Sarri avoids signing any of his former players is proving the one stumbling block in negotiations between the three parties.
According to the same story, Chelsea FC are long-term admirers of Senegal international Kalidou Koulibaly having failed to sign the powerful centre-half in the past few transfer windows.
Antonio Conte is still in charge of the west London side but the Italian coach is being widely tipped to leave the Blues following a disappointing Premier League campaign.
Chelsea FC finished in fifth spot in the Premier League table to miss out on Champions League football but the Blues were 1-0 winners against bitter rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final.
Conte led the Blues to Premier League title glory in his first season in charge after finishing seven points ahead of their closest rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
