Journalist: FC Barcelona have made ‘cash plus player’ offer for Chelsea FC star
FC Barcelona have made an offer to rescue N'Golo Kante from the chaos at Chelsea FC this summer, according to Kaveh Solhekol
FC Barcelona have launched an audacious bid to sign Chelsea FC midfielder N’Golo Kante, Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol has confirmed.
The France international has been linked with a potential exit at Stamford Bridge this summer following the chaos at the west London side since the Premier League season ended.
Kante impressed in the middle of the park in the 2017-18 season despite Chelsea FC finishing in fifth spot in the Premier League table behind Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool FC.
Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain were thought to be leading the race to sign the France international in the summer transfer window.
However, FC Barcelona have emerged as contenders to sign the two-time Premier League winner, who has played a key role in France’s run to the World Cup final.
Sky Sports News reporter Solhekol quoted reports from his colleagues in Italy that claimed FC Barcelona have made an approach to sign Kante this summer.
Solhekol wrote on Twitter: “Sky Italy: Barcelona make cash plus player offer to Chelsea for France midfielder N’Golo Kante. Player is Andre Gomes”
Kante moved to Chelsea FC after he played a vital role in Leicester City’s surprise Premier League title success in 2015-16.
The Frenchman won the PFA player of the year award after Chelsea FC won the English top flight crown with two games to spare in Conte’s first season in charge.
