FC Barcelona are looking at other options rather than Chelsea FC star N’Golo Kante at the moment, according to Sky Sports News reporter Adam Bates.

The FA Cup winners signed Kante in a £30m deal from Leicester City in the 2016 summer transfer window after the defensive midfielder inspired the Foxes to title glory.

The France international wasted no time improving Chelsea FC and the Blues finished seven points above Tottenham in the title race in Antonio Conte’s first season.

The 2017 PFA player of the year was one of Chelsea FC’s better performers in the 2017-18 season as the Blues finished in fifth spot in the Premier League table.

The 27-year-old haw been linked with a potential switch to La Liga champions FC Barcelona in the current transfer window.

Kante won’t play in the Champions League next season unless the holding midfielder completes a summer move.

Sky Sports News reporter Bates claimed that FC Barcelona have cooled their interest Kante in recent weeks.

“Barcelona need a defensive midfielder but they are look at other areas at the moment,” Bates told the Transfer Talk podcast.

The Blues appointed Maurizio Sarri as their new manager last weekend to replace former Juventus head coach Conte.

Chelsea FC have signed Italy international Jorginho in a £57m deal from Serie A runners up Napoli to improve their options in midfield.
