Chelsea FC will want to keep Ruben Loftus-Cheek at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer, according to Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

The England international was sent out on loan to Chelsea FC’s London rivals Crystal Palace last season to gain first-team experience.

Loftus-Cheek impressed during his loan spell with a return of two goals and three assists in 24 games in the Premier League.

The 22-year-old made an appearance in England’s World Cup campaign to get some major tournament experience under the belt.

Palace have been linked with a move to sign Loftus-Cheek on a permanent deal in the 2018 summer transfer window.

Sky Sports News reporter Sheth believes Chelsea FC will be eager to keep Loftus-Cheek in their ranks for the new Premier League campaign.

“Loftus-Cheek loved his time at Palace,” Sheth told the Transfer Talk podcast. “It all depends on Chelsea.

“You could see Chelsea wanting to keep him at the club and see how he gets on.”

Chelsea FC haven’t made any signings in the summer transfer window to provide another reasons why the Blues will want to keep Loftus-Cheek.

The Blues finished in fifth spot in the Premier League table last term to miss out on a place in the Champions League.

Chelsea FC were 1-0 winners against Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley back in May.
