Graham Hunter gives Chelsea FC transfer update on Thibaut Courtois
La Liga expert Graham Hunter believes Real Madrid are eager to sign Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea FC
Graham Hunter has confirmed Real Madrid want to sign Chelsea FC goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
The Blues are facing a battle to keep hold of their number one shot stopper amid interest from La Liga this summer.
Courtois has 12 months left to run on his current deal but the Belgium international has been reluctant to sign a new contract.
Chelsea FC risk losing the 26-year-old for nothing next summer unless the west London side decide to cash in this summer.
Real Madrid were initially thought to be targeting AS Roma and Brazil goalkeeper Alisson Becker in the current transfer market.
However, reports in England this week suggested los Blancos were in negotiations to sign Courtois with view to a £31m deal.
La Liga expert Hunter confirmed that the Blues goalkeeper is a target for the Champions League winners.
“They want to sign Courtois because of his age, his brilliance and his urge to return to Madrid,” Hunter told the Transfer Talk podcast.
Chelsea FC sent Courtois out on loan for three seasons at Atletico Madrid where he won the La Liga title and reached the Champions League final.
Courtois’ former girlfriend and two children are still in Madrid to provide one reason why the Belgian goalkeeper would like to return to Madrid.
