Duncan Castles claims Chelsea FC could sign 24-year-old to replace Eden Hazard
Chelsea FC want Wilfried Zaha to replace Eden Hazard and Willian this summer, Ian McGarry has claimed
Chelsea FC could sign Wilfried Zaha as a replacement for Eden Hazard and Willian, according to Duncan Castles.
The Blues are facing a battle to keep their star players at Stamford Bridge ahead of the new Premier League season.
Chelsea FC have been in turmoil since the Blues finished in fifth spot in the Premier League table last term.
The west London side will have to make do without Champions League football next term, which isn’t ideal for Hazard and Willian.
The duo are entering the prime of their career and will be loathe to miss out on a spot in Europe’s top competition for 12 months.
Hazard has been linked with a potential switch to Champions League winners Real Madrid with 24 months left on his current deal.
Willian, meanwhile, has been touted with a move to La Liga champions FC Barcelona and FA Cup finalists Manchester United.
Zaha impressed with nine goals and made five assists in 29 games in the Premier League last season.
Sunday Times reporter Castles believes Zaha could be a potential replacement for Hazard and Willian.
“It raises the possibility of a move to Chelsea, Chelsea are preparing for the chance that Willian and Hazard move this summer,” Castles told the Transfer Window podcast.
“Zaha is a potential option. He is cheaper and younger than those two. He would prefer to stay in London.”
Manchester United lost 1-0 to Chelsea FC in the FA Cup at Wembley last term following Eden Hazard’s winner from the penalty spot.
