German newspaper Bild, as quoted by The Sun, is reporting that Lewandowski is set to remain at the Bundesliga champions despite being heavily linked with a summer switch.
The same article states that Lewandowski has discussed his future with his family while on holiday following the Poland international’s underwhelming World Cup.
According to the same story, his new agent Pini Zahavi has touted Lewandowski to some of Europe’s leading clubs but a summer move appears unlikely to come to fruition.
The report goes on to reveal that Manchester United made contact with Zahavi this summer in an attempt to sound out the Poland international’s interest in a switch to Old Trafford.
Lewandowski has won six Bundesliga titles, the German Cup twice and the German Super Cup three times during spells at Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.
Manchester United have signed Brazil international Fred and Portuguese defender Diogo Dalot in the summer transfer window to improve Jose Mourinho’s squad ahead of the new season.
The Red Devils finished in second place in the Premier League table last season.
