Everton to rival Liverpool FC in race to sign Colombia star – report
Everton are keen on a move to sign FC Barcelona defender Yerry Mina this summer, say reports
Everton are keen on a move to sign FC Barcelona defender Yerry Mina and are set to rival Liverpool FC in the race for his signature, according to reports in the British media.
The Liverpool Echo is reporting that the Toffees have been impressed by the goal-scoring defender’s performances and are now planning to make a summer move to try and sign him.
The defender has struggled to hold down a spot in the FC Barcelona team since signing for the Catalan club from Palmeiras in January, and he is already being linked with a move away from Camp Nou.
The same report says that Everton are now keen on a deal to sign Mina, who has also reportedly been attracting interest from Merseyside rivals Liverpool FC this summer.
The article also states that Mina has a mammoth buyout clause of €100m in his contract with FC Barcelona, despite the Catalan side having only paid €11.8m to sign him this year.
Meanwhile, Liverpool FC’s first summer signing Fabinho reported for pre-season training this week as the Reds begin their preparations for the new campaign.
The Brazilian midfielder joined the Reds from Monaco at the start of the window as Jurgen Klopp moved quickly to start bolstering his squad.
