Hazard’s situation at Chelsea FC has been a constant source of speculation this summer, with the 27-year-old having been strongly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in recent weeks.
The playmaker currently has two years left to run on his contract with the west London side and he is being strongly touted as a target for Real Madrid this summer.
FC Barcelona have also been credited with an interest in signing Hazard this summer as the clock ticks down on the summer transfer window.
Now, Belgian journalist Terreur has claimed that FC Barcelona do want to sign Hazard this summer but they are unlikely to be able to afford the world-record transfer fee that Chelsea FC are set to demand.
Speaking on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast, Terreur said: “Barcelona have made an enquiry but they know they can’t afford him right now because they know Chelsea will ask for a world-record fee.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC are currently preparing for life under new manager Maurizio Sarri after he was officially confirmed as their new boss over the weekend.
The Blues also moved quickly to make Jorginho their first signing of the summer on Saturday.
