According to football.london, the left-back is understood to have rejected the offer of a new contract at FC Barcelona and he will instead move away from the Spanish club this summer.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move to sign the teenager this summer, with Lopez thought to be set to join the north London club’s Academy following the appointment of Unai Emery at The Emirates.
And the youngster posted a picture on Instagram along with an emotional message as he looks to have called time on his career with FC Barcelona.
Lopez posted the picture above on the app and wrote the caption: “The day has come to say goodbye to what has been my home these last 7 years,’ Lopez wrote on his Instagram account.
“Thanks to Barcelona, it will be the club that I always carry in my heart for wonderful moments that I have lived with my friends, coaches, delegates, executives.
“Magnificent people who have made me feel welcome from the first day.
“It was a difficult decision but after contemplating it with my family I made the decision to go and start a new stage as a footballer with great enthusiasm.
“Thanks to all who have been there always Visca Barca!”
Meanwhile, Arsenal will be looking to at least break back into the top four next season as they bid to try and challenge for the title in their first season under Emery.
The Gunners have not won the Premier League since 2004 and they finished in sixth place in the table and without a trophy last season in what was Arsene Wenger’s final campaign in charge.
Arsenal have already made four new signings this summer as they look to revamp their squad ahead of next season.
