FC Barcelona are winning the race to sign Chelsea FC star Willian this summer, according to reports
FC Barcelona are winning the race to sign Willian from Chelsea FC this summer, according to reports in the Spanish media.
Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, as quoted by the Daily Mirror is reporting that the Catalan giants are the front-runners to secure the signing of the 29-year-old attacker, despite him having been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer.
According to the same report, FC Barcelona have already had a bid for Willian turned down by Chelsea FC this summer.
Now, the same article is claiming that Willian is desperate to complete a move to Camp Nou because he wants to link up with Lionel Messi at the Spanish club.
The story claims that the Brazil international is “determined” not to let the chance to play alongside Messi pass him by.
Willian’s situation at Chelsea FC has been a source of speculation all summer due to his lack of playing time under Antonio Conte last season.
The Blues are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they prepare for the new campaign.
The west London side will have to settle for Europa League football next season after they finished fifth in the Premier League table last term.
