Italian journalist: Juve want to sell 30-year-old to Chelsea FC
Italian journalist Paolo Baldini claims Juventus will look to sell Gonzalo Higuain to Chelsea FC this summer
Juventus will try to sell Gonzalo Higuain to Chelsea FC this summer, Italian reporter Paolo Baldini has claimed.
The Argentina international scored 16 times in the 2017-18 Serie A season to help Juventus continue their dominance of the Italian top flight.
Higuain has been linked with a potential move to the west London outfit in the current transfer window to bolster Chelsea FC’s attack.
Maurizio Sarri is rumoured to be the favourite to replace Antonio Conte in the Stamford Bridge hot seat ahead of the new Premier League season.
The 49-year-old head coach worked with Higuain at Napoli, which would make Higuain would make a natural target for Sarri.
Juventus are rumoured to be in the market to sign Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo this summer to improve their attack ahead of the new campaign.
Italian reporter Baldini believes the Serie A champions will look to sell Higuain to Chelsea FC this summer.
“I would be stunned if Higuain doesn’t go somewhere,” Baldini told ESPN FC.
“I don’t see how you can combine Higuain and Ronaldo as a partnership. It is a good window to sell him. He has a very good relationship with Sarri. It is a natural opportunity to try and sell him to Chelsea.”
Chelsea FC finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a Champions League spot.
The Blues were 1-0 winners against Manchester United in the FA Cup final to end the season with some silverware.
