Ivan Gazidis made transfer plea to new Arsenal boss Unai Emery – report
Arsenal are looking to sign leaders in the summer transfer window, according to reports
Ivan Gazidis made it clear to Unai Emery that the new Arsenal manager should look to sign some “leaders” in the summer transfer market, according to reports in the British media.
Football.london, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that Gazidis made it clear to candidates during the interview process that bringing in some talented leaders during the summer transfer window should be a priority.
Emery has been selected as the man to try and lead Arsenal back to the top of English football after he was brought in as Arsene Wenger’s replacement this summer.
The Spaniard has already moved quickly to secure his first two signings of the summer after tying up deals for both Stephan Lichtsteiner and goalkeeper Bernd Leno.
The Gunners are thought to still be on the lookout for a number of other new signings this summer as they look to try and assemble a squad capable of at least breaking back into the top four next season.
And according to the same story, Arsenal are looking to bring in players with a certain amount of steel to help improve their squad this summer.
Arsenal finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last season and without a trophy.
