Liverpool FC have cooled their interest in Lyon captain Nabil Fekir, according to a report in England.
The Daily Mail is reporting that Liverpool FC have moved on from their interest in the France international as the Reds look to complete a deal for AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker.
The same article states that Jurgen Klopp will call off their pursuit of Fekir and the German head coach’s priority will be trimming down the Liverpool FC squad.
According to the same story, Liverpool FC haven’t contacted Lyon about the French playmaker since a proposed £53m deal fell through on 9 June.
The Merseyside outfit were thought to be close to a deal to sign Fekir last month ahead of the attacker’s participation in the World Cup.
The Lyon star was reported to have travelled to Liverpool FC to complete a medical at Melwood ahead of a summer move.
Fekir was thought to have selected his squad number and conducted interviews with Liverpool FC’s in-house TV channel.
However, a deal fell through after Liverpool FC attempted to re-negotiate a £53m deal due to concerns about Fekir’s history of knee problems.
Liverpool FC have signed Fabinho, Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri in the summer transfer window so far.
