Liverpool FC midfielder given green light to leave Anfield – report
Georginio Wijnaldum could be on his way to Turkish side Fenerbahce from Liverpool FC, say reports
Georginio Wijnaldum has been given the green light to leave Liverpool FC and sign for Turkish side Fenerbahce, according to reports in Turkey.
Turkish outlet A Spor, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that the 27-year-old midfielder could be set for a surprise move away from Anfield this summer despite having featured regularly for the Reds last season.
The same story says that Wijnaldum has been told that he can leave Liverpool FC to link up with his former manager Philip Cocu at Fenerbahce.
The article claims that the Netherlands international is not happy that he will likely be behind the likes of Naby Keita and Fabinho in the pecking order at Anfield next season.
The Dutchman played 33 games for Liverpool FC last season as he helped the Reds to finish fourth and reach the Champions League final.
Liverpool FC will be looking to at least challenge for the Premier League title next season as Jurgen Klopp looks to try and bring the first trophy to Anfield since his appointment back in 2015.
The Reds reached the Champions League final last term but their season ended in disappointment when they were beaten 3-1 by Real Madrid in the showpiece back in May in Kiev.
