Liverpool FC have ‘zero’ interest in signing FC Barcelona star – journalist
Liverpool FC do not have an interest in signing FC Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen, claims James Pearce
Liverpool FC do not have any interest in signing FC Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen this summer, according to journalist James Pearce.
The Reds have been linked with a number of goalkeepers this summer as Jurgen Klopp looks to try and shore up his options between the posts ahead of next season.
Liverpool FC are believed to be on the lookout for goalkeeping reinforcements after Loris Karius’ Champions League final nightmare back in May.
FC Barcelona shot-stopper Cillessen has been touted as a possible target for the Merseyside outfit in recent months, as Klopp looks to try and strengthen his squad.
Now though, Liverpool Echo reporter Pearce has claimed that he has been told that Liverpool FC do not hold a serious interest in signing Cillessen this summer.
Pearce wrote on Twitter: “Told that #LFC have zero interest in Barcelona keeper Jasper Cillessen – despite the recent speculation.”
Liverpool FC have so far only completed one new signing this summer after tying up a deal to bring Brazilian midfielder Fabinho to Anfield.
The Reds finished in fourth place in the Premier League table and reached the Champions League final last season under Jurgen Klopp.
However, they will be aiming to challenge for the Premier League title this time around as they look to try and win their first trophy under the German.
