Jurgen Klopp names best thing about Liverpool FC star Mohamed Salah
The Liverpool FC manager raves about Mohamed Salah after the Egypt international signs a new long-term deal
Jurgen Klopp has raved about Mohamed Salah’s unselfishness following the Liverpool FC striker’s new contract.
The Egypt international put pen to paper on a new deal with the Merseyside outfit on Monday to end speculation surrounding his future.
The African forward is set to earn £10m a year at the 18-time English champions and Salah is tied down to the Reds until 2023.
Salah enjoyed an incredible first season at Liverpool FC following a return of 32 goals in the Premier League to help Klopp’s side finish in fourth spot.
The former Chelsea FC winger netted 10 times during Liverpool FC’s run to the Champions League final before he suffered a dislocated shoulder during a 3-1 loss to Real Madrid.
Speaking to Liverpool FC’s website about Salah’s best quality after he put pen to paper on a new deal, Klopp said:
“The key thing to remember is the best thing about Mo is that he never sees himself as being more important than the team or anyone else within it.
“He recognises his teammates and this club helped him achieve individual success last season. He sees the individual awards come because he is part of something bigger that is special.
“Mo reflects where we are as a team, I think. Last season was special with many special moments – but we want more. We want to be more successful and achieve more together – as the supporters sang so loudly, ‘we’re never gonna stop’. This has to be the attitude individually and collectively.”
Salah netted 43 times in all competitions during his debut season at the Merseyside outfit following his £39m move from Serie A giants AS Roma last summer.
The Liverpool FC star saw off competition from Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne to win the PFA player of the year award last term.
Salah spent eight months at Chelsea FC in 2014 before he moved to Serie A.
