Liverpool FC are leading Chelsea FC in the race to sign Alisson Becker from AS Roma this summer, according to reports.
Italian outlet Football Italia is citing a report from Goal as saying that the Reds are currently at the front of the queue to secure the signature of the goalkeeper this summer as they look to bolster their options between the posts ahead of next season.
Liverpool FC have been linked with a number of goalkeepers this summer after Loris Karius’ Champions League final nightmare back in May.
Now, it is being claimed in the same report that AS Roma are indeed willing to let Alisson leave the Italian club this summer, handing Liverpool FC a potential boost.
The same story says that Chelsea FC are also being linked with a move to sign Alisson this summer, as the uncertainty about Thibaut Courtois’ future at the club continues.
Meanwhile, Liverpool FC confirmed their second new signing of the summer transfer window on Friday as they wrapped up a deal to bring attacker Xherdan Shaqiri to Anfield from Stoke City.
The Reds will be looking to try and challenge for the Premier League title next season after their fourth-placed finish last term.
