Liverpool FC make bid to sign Besiktas star, claims reporter
Both Liverpool FC and Everton are interested in signing Croatia defender Domagoj Vida, claims reporter
Liverpool FC have made a transfer bid to try and sign Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida, according to Turkish journalist Turgay Demir.
The Daily Star is carrying quotes from the Turkish reporter claiming that the Reds have joined Everton in the race to try and sign Demir this summer as they look to try and strengthen their defensive options ahead of next season.
Liverpool FC are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer, with the Reds so far having only landed Fabinho from Monaco and Naby Keita on the deal that was agreed last summer with RB Leipzig.
The same report says that Everton were linked with a move for Vida back in January, but that both Liverpool FC and the Toffees have now tabled offers for the 29-year-old defender.
The same article quotes Turkish journalist Demir as saying: “Everton and Liverpool have made an offer for Vida, €15m has been proposed but Besiktas will not consider a bid below €20m.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool FC will be looking to at least assemble a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title next season after the Reds finished in fourth place last term and reached the Champions League final.
The Reds are still looking to win their first trophy under Klopp.
