Liverpool FC have had a bid of €18m for Domagoj Vida rejected by Besiktas, according to reports
Liverpool FC have had an opening bid of €18m turned down by Besiktas for central defender Domagoj Vida, according to reports in Turkey.
Turkish outlet Fanatik, as quoted by 90min, is reporting that the Reds’ first offer for the defender has been turned down by the Turkish outfit.
Liverpool FC are believed to be keen on signing the Croatia international as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his defence ahead of next season.
The same report says that Liverpool FC’s first bid for Vida was swiftly turned down by the Turkish club, with Besiktas said to value the defender at a fee closer to €35m.
Liverpool FC are thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as Klopp looks to assemble a squad at least capable of challenging for the title next season.
The Reds finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season and reached the Champions League final, where they were beaten by Real Madrid.
The Merseyside outfit have already moved quickly to bring in Brazilian midfielder Fabinho from Monaco this summer as they prepare for the new campaign and continue their search for their first major trophy under Klopp.
