Liverpool FC switch focus from Fekir to signing 22-year-old – report
Liverpool FC are considering a move to sign Julian Brandt from Bayer Leverkusen, say reports
Liverpool FC are considering a move to sign Julian Brandt after their bid to bring Nabil Fekir to Anfield broke down, according to reports in Italy.
Italian outlet Calcio Insider, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that the Reds are pondering a move for the 22-year-old as Jurgen Klopp looks to strengthen his attacking options at Anfield.
The Merseyside outfit were thought to be close to a move to signing Fekir last month but the proposed transfer broke down at the final hour amid reports of fitness concerns.
The same story now says that Liverpool FC have turned their attentions towards signing Bayer Leverkusen winger Brandt as Klopp looks to add some more firepower to his squad.
The same report says that the Premier League club could be prepared to make a €60m (£53m) bid for the German as they look to bring in their second official signing of the summer.
Liverpool FC signed Fabinho from Monaco at the start of the window and also welcomed Naby Keita to Melwood last week after his agreed move from RB Leipzig last year went through.
The Reds ended up in fourth place in the Premier League table and without a trophy after they lost the Champions League final to Real Madrid.
