Jurgen Klopp has revealed his delight at both Naby Keita and Fabinho having quickly linked up with Liverpool FC for pre-season training.

The pair reported to Melwood this week as the Reds begin their pre-season preparations following their transfer to Liverpool FC.

Keita finally signed for the Reds last month after his move from RB Leipzig was agreed last summer, while Fabinho is also getting used to his new surroundings after arriving from Monaco at the start of the window.

Klopp is now hoping that the fact that the pair have linked up with their new team-mates so early in the summer will stand them in good stead for the season ahead.

Speaking in an interview with Liverpool FC’s website, Klopp said: “Very, very happy to finally have Naby here. It took a while.

“Fabinho is also here and that’s perfect for the moment.

“It’s even better they can start from the first day with the training because they have to learn the most, they have to adapt to our style of play. We have nine games until the season starts and we will need them all.

“They all are important in a different way. They are here, we can start, that’s good.”

Liverpool FC are still thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer.

The Reds were heavily linked with a move to land Nabil Fekir from Lyon last month both the proposed transfer fell through at the final hour.

Liverpool FC ended up in fourth place in the Premier League and without a trophy last term after they were beaten by Real Madrid in the Champions League final back in May.
