The German shot-stopper’s situation at Anfield has been a constant source of speculation this summer after his Champions League final nightmare against Real Madrid.
Karius was badly at fault for two of the goals conceded by the Reds against the Spanish side during their 3-1 defeat by Real Madrid in Kiev back in May.
His performance has inevitably led to speculation that Liverpool FC could be set to look to bring in goalkeeping reinforcements this summer as they look to challenge for the title next season.
However, Karius featured for Liverpool FC in their first pre-season friendly against Chester over the weekend, and Klopp was clearly pleased by his performance in the 7-0 win.
Speaking to Liverpool FC’s website, Klopp said: “I’m not sure if I should have expected something different but it [the reception from fans] was nice, absolutely nice.
“The wind was difficult, as a goalkeeper. We need to cool down the whole situation; let’s play football, let’s work on our weaknesses and use our strength and then everything will be good.”
Liverpool FC are still thought to be on the lookout for a number of new players this summer as they look to build a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season.
The Reds finished in fourth place last term as they still look to win their first trophy under Klopp.
