Xherdan Shaqiri has revealed his delight at signing for Liverpool FC to become the Reds’ third signing of the summer transfer window.

The Merseyside outfit confirmed that a deal for the Switzerland international was completed on Friday night as Jurgen Klopp moved quickly to bolster his attacking options at Anfield.

Liverpool FC are looking to be able to challenge for the Premier League title next season and Shaqiri will be hoping to add some extra fire-power to the Reds squad next season.

The attacker joins Liverpool FC after he was unable to prevent Stoke City from being relegated from the Premier League last season.

And the 26-year-old has revealed his delight at finally completing his transfer to Liverpool FC from Stoke City, admitting that he was hoping to move to the Reds in the past as well.

Speaking in an interview with Liverpool FC’s website, Shaqiri said: |I’m very happy to be here. It’s a huge club with big history, big players and a fantastic coach. So I’m really glad and happy to be here.

“As a player you always want to be on the biggest stage in football. A few years ago I wanted to come too but it didn’t happen.

“I’m really happy that now I’m finally here. I want to improve myself too, I want to be with the best and I want to win titles. That’s what I’m here for.”

Liverpool FC will be looking to challenge for the Premier League title next season after the Reds finished in fourth place in the table last term.

The Reds also reached the Champions League final under Klopp last term before they were beaten by Real Madrid in in the final back in May.
