Liverpool FC are leading the race to sign Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City this summer, say reports

Liverpool FC are still the favourites to sign Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City this summer, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Reds are still the front-runners to secure the Switzerland international’s signature this summer as Jurgen Klopp looks to add to his attacking options ahead of next season.

The same story says that Stoke City have requested to be able to sign a player from Liverpool FC on loan for next season as part of the deal.

Shaqiri is believed to be available for a transfer fee of just £13m this summer after the Potters were relegated from the Premier League last season.

And Stoke are thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings as they look to try and bounce back into the top flight immediately.

According to the same story, Manchester United are also in the running to sign Shaqiri from Stoke this summer, but it is Liverpool FC who have been leading the chase for his signature.
