Liverpool FC open talks to complete £13.5m signing – report
Liverpool FC are in talks to sign Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City this summer, according to reports
Liverpool FC have opened talks over a deal to sign Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Independent is reporting that the Reds have opened talks to try and sign the Switzerland international as Jurgen Klopp looks to add some more fire-power to his squad at Anfield.
The same story says that Shaqiri will be available for a transfer fee of around £13.5m following Stoke City’s relegation from the Premier League last season.
The article claims that Klopp has identified Shaqiri as a top target this summer as he wants to have him as back up for Liverpool FC’s front three of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.
The 26-year-old scored eight goals and made seven assists in 36 Premier League games for the Potters last season but could not prevent them from dropping down to the Championship.
Liverpool FC are thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they bid to build a squad capable of challenging for the title next season.
The Reds are still looking for their first major trophy under Klopp and they finished fourth and without any silverware last term.
