Jurgen Klopp gives new Liverpool FC signing Naby Keita a warm welcome at Melwood
Jurgen Klopp was quick to give new Liverpool FC signing Naby Keita a warm welcome on the first day of pre-season training at Melwood.
The Guinea international has completed his move to the Anfield outfit from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig to become the second arrival at Liverpool FC this summer.
The Reds reached a £48m agreement with RB Leipzig in the 2017 summer transfer window but Keita spent the 2017-18 season at the German club.
The 23-year-old will be tasked with helping to fill the void left by Emre Can after the Germany international moved to Serie A giants Juventus last month.
Keita will wear Steven Gerrard’s famous number eight shirt in the Premier League season to leave the African with some big boots to fill.
Klopp was clearly delighted to have Keita at Liverpool FC after the club’s official Instagram page posted the above clip and wrote the following caption on the photo-sharing app:
“BIG hug from the boss for @keitanabydeco on day one! 😍🙌 #LFCPreSeason #LFC #LiverpoolFC”
Liverpool FC have also signed Brazil international Fabinho in a £39m deal from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco in the summer transfer window.
The Reds haven’t won the Premier League title but appear to be making steady progress under Klopp following his appointment in 2015.
