Italian reporter claims new Liverpool FC signing will prove difference maker
Italian journalist Paolo Baldini believes Alisson Becker can make the difference at Liverpool FC
Alisson Becker can take Liverpool FC to another level next season, according to Italian journalist Paolo Baldini.
The Reds signed Alisson in a world record £67m deal for a goalkeeper from Serie A giants AS Roma on Thursday evening.
The 25-year-old has put pen to paper on a long-term contract with the Merseyside outfit to solve a long-term problem in the Liverpool FC team.
Alisson established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in Serie A after the Brazil number one made more saves than any other shot stopper in the Italian top flight last term.
Liverpool FC paid the price for having a substandard goalkeeper last season after Loris Karius made two mistakes in a 3-1 loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev back in May.
Serie A reporter Baldini believes Alisson can take Liverpool FC to the next level in the upcoming Premier League campaign.
“He is a difference maker,” Baldini told ESPN FC. “He is a step on Karius.
“He is tremendous shot stopper. Goalkeepers like Alisson mean you concede less goals over the season. I don’t see how they don’t challenge.”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season to ensure their continued participation in the Champions League.
The Reds have also signed AS Monaco midfielder Fabinho, RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita and Stoke City forward Xherdan Shaqiri in the summer transfer window so far.
