Steve McManaman believes the signing of Alisson Becker has satisfied concerned Liverpool FC supporters ahead of the new Premier League season.

The Reds signed in Alisson in a £67m deal from Serie A giants AS Roma earlier this month after Liverpool FC agreed a world record transfer fee for a goalkeeper.

Liverpool FC will be hoping that the Brazil international can blossom into a key player under Jurgen Klopp given the inconsistent performances of Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet.

Alisson could become the first world class goalkeeper at Liverpool FC since Pepe Reina, who was allowed to leave the club under Brendan Rodgers following Mignolet’s arrival.

Former Liverpool FC captain McManaman was delighted to see Alisson arrive at the Anfield outfit ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

Liverpool FC finished in fourth spot in the Premier League table last season to ensure their continued participation in the Champions League.

The Reds haven’t won the Premier League title but the addition of Alisson gives Liverpool FC a great chance next term.

Klopp has signed Guinea international Naby Keita in a £48m switch from RB Leipzig after the two clubs agreed a deal last summer.

Liverpool FC snapped up Swiss star Xherdan Shaqiri in a £13.5m deal from Stoke City.
