Liverpool FC make world record transfer bid for 26-year-old – report
Liverool FC are set to make a world record bid to sign Alisson Becker from AS Roma, according to a report
Liverpool FC have made a world record transfer bid for AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker, according to a report in England.
The Liverpool Echo is reporting that the Reds have submitted a £62m offer for the Brazil international, which amounts to a world record fee for a shot stopper.
The same article states that the Reds will offer £53m up front to the Italian club as well as various add ons that could see the transfer fee bolstered to £62m.
According to the same story, the Serie A giants want Liverpool FC to pay £66m for Alisson following the shot stopper’s impressive two seasons as AS Roma’s goalkeeper.
Liverpool FC signed Mohamed Salah in a £39m deal from AS Roma last summer, and while the transfer fee initially seemed inflated, the Egypt international has since established himself as one of the best players in the world.
Therefore the Italian giants would be reluctant to lose another key player for anything less than his maximum value in the 2018 summer transfer window.
The Reds are thought to be in the market to sign a new goalkeeper in the summer transfer window following Loris Karius’ poor performance in the Champions League final.
The German shot stopper made two big mistakes in Liverpool FC’s 3-1 loss to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the European Cup showpiece in Kiev back in May.
